The British Gooseberry is a very fine fruit indeed. Paired with Scotch Whisky has made our Gooseberry Whisky Liqueur a fascinating and very unique, unsweetened drink.
It tastes of both Gooseberry and Scotch Whisky. This drink is tending towards being tart, and is more like a dry white wine than a sweet liqueur. The result is a delightful eruption of taste in the mouth.
How is it best drunk?
Single Malt Whisky and spirit drinkers in general , be brave and try this. Experiments are ongoing, however, drunk over ice or long with soda and lemon is our current preferred mixes.
It can also make a delicious Gooseberry Whisky Sour Cocktail when shaken with lemon and egg white.
How is it made?
The process of simple, British Gooseberries are infused in Single Malt Scotch Whisky to create our Gooseberry Whisky Liqueur. There is no added sugar just an amazing, totally unique flavour.
Is there anything else I should know?
Nick and Erin Bullard have created this drink for us, having founded The Moffat Distillery. Their souls, we think, are steeped in Scotch Whisky whereas their hearts are made of fruit. The result of their ingenious labours is a very clever Gooseberry Whisky Liqueur, and an assortment of other spectacular drinks.
