This wonderful Rapeseed Oil is unique as it is grown in the fields at Ferneyfold Farm by Mark Bush and his family at Madderty in Perthshire. It has a rich, fresh taste that is well balanced and surprisingly pleasant on the palate compared to other British rapeseed oils we have tried.
How is it best used?
It has many different uses as a result of its high burn point. Frying, roasting and baking for example. We have experimented with roasting and frying vegetables in a mix of a little rapeseed oil and a little fresh strong Extra Virgin Olive Oil such as our Villa Montalbano. The combination not only improves the taste dramatically but it will allow cooking without burning at a much higher temperature. Perthshire Rapeseed Oil is also fantastic for making marinades and dressing with our range of locally produced fruit vinegars, such as our Raspberry or Bramble. This makes a wonderful addition to our range of oils.
