Fancy a Tipple at the BBC Good Food Show Spring? Head to Demijohn for a Spring Time Rhubarb Vodka
Spring into summer at the BBC Good Food Show Spring with stunning spirits, liqueurs, oils and vinegars from the UK’s great liquid deli, Demijohn. On their Stand S26 the Demijohn team will be offering some great tastings of their summer drinks, notably Organic Rhubarb Vodka Liqueur and Gooseberry Gin. Both embody the taste of summer in an alcoholic liquid form and are the ‘must haves’ for kicking off any successful summer party.
Organic Rhubarb Vodka Liqueur was created in Inverness by Andrew Lyle who wanted an extra outlet for his fields of organic rhubarb. The wonderful rich, pink colour and fresh rhubarb taste make it the perfect unique drink for mixing with champagne or sparkling wine to make a Spring Kir, to make a Rhubarb Bellini Cocktail or indulge yourself by pouring it over ice cream.
Using Andrew’s fresh organic rhubarb, which for years has been sold at the Covent Garden Market in London and English distilled Organic Vodka and Organic Cane Sugar this liqueur is something magical and special. Having made the liqueur as a present for his wife, Andrew then spoke to Demijohn about selling it commercially. And so Organic Rhubarb Vodka Liqueur was born!
Even better Demijohn has created the perfect cocktail from it – Rhubarb Bellini – simply stew some fresh rhubarb stems for about 5 minutes with sugar then liquidise it and chill. Add 2 teaspoons of this fruit puree to a glass, a measure of Organic Rhubarb Liqueur and top up with Prosecco or Sparkling Wine and you have the ultimate party drink!
A visit to Demijohn is to an adult what a trip to a sweetie shop is to a small child. Packed on its wooden shelves are large glass demijohns of delicious spirits, liqueurs, oils and vinegars. Demijohn’s Gooseberry Gin, with its fresh green hue and charming taste of summer will be there too along with some of its fruit vinegars.
