This oil is the product of carefully infusing the rare White Truffle into our Perthshire Rapeseed Oil. The result, for those who like the strong taste of truffle, is magical and possibly a little addictive. It is hard not to add it to all your food once you get started!
How is it best used?
Like our pure Perthsire Rapeseed Oil, our White Truffle Oil has many different uses as a result of its high burn point. Frying, roasting and baking for example. We have experimented with roasting and frying vegetables. We recommend you try our Truffle Oil and Parmesan Wedges recipe. It is also fantastic for making marinades and dressing with our range of locally produced fruit vinegars, such as our Raspberry or Bramble. This makes a wonderful addition to our range of oils.
How is it made?
Scottish Rapeseed Oil is produced from the fields at Ferneyfold Farm by Mark Bush and his family at Madderty in Perthshire. The Rapeseed Oil is then infused using real White Truffle, unlike many other truffle oils that are made using an esscence. The base oil has a rich, fresh taste that is well balanced and surprisingly pleasant on the palate compared to other British rapeseed oils we have tried.
